Custom steel trawler guaranteed to turn heads in any harbor. Federally documented.
Economical single 120 HP Ford Lehman, 5KW Kohler generator, R.O. watermaker, dry stack exhaust, keel cooler, automatic oil
changer, color closed-circuit flat panel TV with cameras for viewing the engineroom and any traffic behind or passing the
boat, and a commercial-quality, custom-made passive paravane stabilizer system. Dedicated house and engine batteries (gel
mat type). RayCom cell phone system to boost cellular communications signals. Intelligent Xantrex TrueCharge 40 inverter/charger
with remote panel. Full reverse-cycle central heating and air conditioning, full electronics including radar, Interphase Vista
scanning sonar and depth sounder, Raytheon 650 Type 2 hydraulic auto-pilot, two VHFs, a top-quality SSB radio. There is a
radio direction finder, an item rarely seen these days, but one that can come in handy in circumstances where hand-held compass
bearings cannot be made because the vessel is all-steel construction. There is a commercial-quality, Danforth compensated
ships compass with 6-inch card at the helm. Luxurious Todd 5-Star helm chair in beige leather, with stand and footrest. Stainless
steel, fully dogged and gasketed opening ports with screens. Custom shower with Scandvik fixtures, separate from head, Lectrasan
system with salt-feed system, tank monitors, 100-gallons of diesel in two tanks. Fifty-gallon fresh water tank (you do not
need a huge tank when you can make your own fresh water underway), with shore water hook up, water heater, hot and cold pressurized
water system. Large search light, air horns and 'steam' whistle (powered by air compressor). Custom mattress in forward cabin.
Twin anchors forward with Maxwell windlass. Large Fortress storm anchor mounted atop aft cabin. Man overboard recovery sling
system mounted atop pilothouse and using paravane block and tackle. Bow thruster added recently. Dive platform at stern. Heavy-duty
davit system for dinghy. Davits also serve as ventilators for the lazarette. Multiple solar-powered vents in forward and aft
cabins and pilothouse. Aft cabin, galley with two-burner electric cooktop, sink, and large refrigerator/freezer. Fold-down
mahogany table has 19-coat varnish finish. Flat-screen TV with tunable antenna and cable hook up. Twin shore power set up
with heavy cabling and adapters. Antique brass helm wheel from Scotland. Siemens 100 MAX Watts solar power array atop pilot
house. Wind-powered generator (not often seen on power boats). Complete weather station. Built-in vacuum system. Passive paravane
stabilizers. Deliberately built to accommodate two adults overnight. Several people can comfortably day sail on the boat.
Built in 1983 and totally rebuilt in 2000-2005 at a cost of nearly $500,000. Aft cabin (all steel) was added, the entire interior
replaced (including all wiring and plumbing), electrical panels, teak and holly soles, white walls, overheads, hatches, main
shaft, propeller, mahogany pilothouse sliding doors (port and starboard) and aft cabin hatch. Stabilizing sponsons (steel),
bowsprit and aft dive platform were added, along with the paravane stabilization system, and twin bilge keels, which also
provide stability. Every inch of the hull has been tested and approximately two-thirds of the hull plates have been replaced.
Cited length is length on deck, not including bowsprit and diving platform. There is a removable, stainless steel dive ladder
that can be mounted on the stern. Deck is a complete walk-around on one level. Decks are steel, with appropriate anti-skid
treatment (the pilothouse roof is also non-skid). Rails are heavily built and ship-like. Cleats are integrated with scuppers
and bulwarks, keeping decks clear, an important safety feature. GlobalFix 406 EPIRB with manual release. Ring buoys are located
port and starboard and a horseshoe buoy system is located at the stern. Top quality commercial-style fenders, Para-Tech 15-foot-diameter
sea anchor with 300 feet of massive braided line on swivels, a 48-inch-diameter drogue, a smaller raft drogue and other gear
are not currently stored on the boat, but can now be provided to the buyer at no additional cost, along with many other accessories,
some subject to prior sale. A well-used Avon 10-ft.-3-in. RIB with newer small four-stroke engine, newer trailer, plus accessories,
can now be included at no additional cost, but also subject to prior sale. The currently available accessory items are worth
many thousands of dollars. The name of the vessel is CAREB (with a long accent over the "E"), which was her original
name. Her USCG documentation number is 655263. A prior owner had renamed her as "Becky B II," and the current owner
restored the original name. The boat was originally documented as a fishing vessel, but she evidently was never used as such,
nor has she been used for any kind of fishing since 2000. The engine room has excellent access via three hatches in the pilothouse.
With those hatches closed, it does not have standing headroom in the engine room. The boat cruises comfortably and economically
at 7.5 to eight knots. She draws 4.5 feet. Currently listed with broker in Washington, NC. May be viewed at Capt. Sam's Boatyard.
